David Olney & Sergio Webb are headed back to South Carolina this Friday to play COLUMBIA for the first time in five years. Here’s what the Free Times wrote up about ‘em this week:
"Even among the literary-minded folks in the Americana movement, David Olney stands out as songwriter with a particularly lettered sensibility. Frequently compared to the all-time exemplar of the musician-poet amalgam, Leonard Cohen, Olney is currently in the midst of series of thematic mini-series recordings that uses a darkly cool jazz backup for Olney’s short-story songs."
The Southeast run continues! Look for a debut from the duo in BLUE RIDGE, GA this Saturday night and a little teaser show at The Crossroads honky tonk in downtown Nashville as part of the Red Beet Records celebration during the AMERICANA MUSIC FESTIVAL next week. A return to RALEIGH is later this month as well as the SMITHFIELD Music Aiken & Friends Festival in VA.
Mid-month has David & Sergio rolling back up the East coast for the third time this year, with two shows opening for KARLA BONOFF in Sellersville, PA and Chatham, NJ. The boys headline shows near WINCHESTER, VA (Berryville) and BARTO, PA, as well.
