Appalachian Punk | European Poison | Olney’s Army

“…Absolute gentlemen and fantastic performers, as always.

Honored to have them in the house.”

David Olney  plays only a few shows in October – singularly solo as well as with  Sergio Webb –  but covers quite a few miles with TWO Festival performances in the NYC area and a return to BOTH North AND South Carolinas in-between.

The CBGB Festival  celebrates the infamous-now-gone music venue with more than 500 artists playing 175 different area venues and a focus on a range of genres, including punk, pop, hardcore, thrash, electro, Americana, country, experimental and more.

Back in the NYC area in late October, David makes his debut on WAMFEST: The Words and Music Festival, alongside of longtime collaborator Ms. Tomi Lunsford. This year’s focus is “The Appalachian Heritage”. Others on esteemed annual series include Rosanne Cash, Loudon Wainwright III, Tony Trischka, Lee Sexton, and more. The festival is designed to celebrate the literary qualities of popular music and to break down the barriers between the community and academia, bridging the gap between the literature in universities and the literature of the people. Sounds right in the pocket of one David Olney, eh!
Know anyone in these areas who need to see & hear this music? Please share the good word. Many of these shows have limited seating.

Look for David Olney to play a few select shows in AUSTRIA later this year, and then on to The NETHERLANDS where he’ll meet up with Sergio Webb for a handful of performances, including a 2-day stint in Aalsmeer at De Oude Veiling where YOU can be part of a multi-camera Concert video being shot for future release.
The Dutch shows also offer a chance to purchase the forthcoming LIVE “Sweet Poison” CD out on SCR Records at the shows instead of waiting until it’s official release in 2014. The collection includes live recordings made during the David Olney with Sergio Webb tours of Holland earlier this century and features an extended, truly remarkable version of “I Only Have Eyes For You” among other highlights.

The 2013 “Predicting The Past” full-length studio album on the Music label in Scandinavia is now available as a 2-CD set (coupled with a Retrospective of songs from 2000-2012) in most of European countries. A US release is expected before the end of the year.

We could all use a little help from our friends at some point. DAVID OLNEY WANTS YOU to join him in sharing his social anxiety as he launches his first-ever crowd-funding campaign in a few weeks. A new studio album is in the works but is currently being funded by an independent recording artist  with way too limited funds (that would be David Olney). We’ll soon be sending out updates about how you can get involved, support David and his music, and own some way too limited and very personal “artifacts” from the man himself. Stay tuned!

Visit with David Olney each week for his “YOU NEVER KNOW” web video series, posted online EVERY TUESDAY where he talks about Baseball and other pressing matters as well as sharing a song and the story of how it hatched. Archived episodes are on his YouTube channel HERE. You can view this week’s “YOU NEVER KNOW” episodeon David’s site HERE.

Be sure to visit David Olney’s online store for a full array of his new & classic albums releases at and at fine music retail outlets like, iTunes, Village Records, and at Grimey’s in Nashville, TN.

Thank you to ALL who support the music & make the road a more welcoming place by coming out to the shows, turning on others, sharing a home-cooked meal and carrying the music with you. Recent touring has found the boys enjoying lots of good company, as you can see here:
